Threatening to withhold students’ grades over a pay dispute are UniMaid professors
A threat to withhold student test results has been made by lecturers at the University of Maiduguri (UniMaid) unless the federal government handles the issue of pro-rata salary payment and nonpayment of their 8 months’ salaries.
The declaration was made on November 22 by Dr. Abubakar Mshelia, the head of the Unimaid section of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The results of the first and second semesters of the academic year 2020–2021 will not be submitted, and members of ASUU will not mark the current exam scripts.
“Coordinators of sections 1-4, 5 or 6, as appropriate, shall not compute academic standing.
Government policy was “no work, no pay;” we advocate “no pay, no work.”
